A whiter smile can help you look younger, feel more confident, and show up more fully in everyday life—and we’re here to help you get there.

What Causes Teeth to Become Discolored?

Tooth discoloration is often part of the natural aging process. As enamel thins over time, the darker dentin underneath becomes more visible. But external factors also play a role, such as:

  • Genetics
  • Smoking or tobacco use
  • Coffee, tea, red wine, and dark-colored foods
  • Certain medications
  • Inconsistent oral hygiene

The good news? Professional whitening can reverse years of stains in a matter of days—or even just one visit.

Professional Teeth Whitening Treatments in Plano

Unlike store-bought strips or rinses, our whitening systems use high-concentration ingredients that penetrate safely and deeply to remove stubborn stains. We offer two options to fit your lifestyle:

In-Office Teeth Whitening

Looking for fast results? Our in-office treatment using GLO or Zoom! can brighten your teeth by up to 8–10 shades in a single visit. We protect your lips and gums, apply a concentrated whitening gel, and activate it with a special light for maximum impact with minimal sensitivity.

At-Home Teeth Whitening

Prefer to whiten on your own schedule? Our custom trays and professional whitening gel let you achieve noticeable results at home—without the uneven results of store-bought kits. Just follow your dentist’s instructions and watch your smile gradually brighten over a few days.

A Whiter Smile That Lasts

To keep your smile white for as long as possible:

  • Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste
  • Floss every day
  • Limit dark beverages and foods
  • Avoid tobacco products
  • Stay consistent with your dental cleanings and exams

We’ll also provide tips tailored to your whitening treatment to help preserve your results.

Teeth Whitening FAQs

Is professional teeth whitening right for you? To Find out, dive into some of the most frequently asked questions and then schedule an appointment with our experienced teeth whitening specialists in Plano! If you can’t find the answer to your question on this page, feel free to call us and ask – we’re always happy to help!

Does teeth whitening hurt?

Unlike the teeth whitening products you can find at your local drugstore, our solutions are created with your comfort and safety in mind. In order to minimize the risk of gum irritation following your treatment, we isolate your teeth during in-office whitening and make customized trays for take-home whitening. We also formulate our bleaching agents to reduce tooth sensitivity as much as possible.

If your teeth are prone to sensitivity, we may recommend take-home whitening instead of in-office treatment so as to avoid aggravating your teeth. We might also suggest using a desensitizing toothpaste for a few days after starting your treatment to reduce discomfort.

Am I A Candidate For Teeth Whitening?

Most patients who wish to have brighter smiles make good candidates for teeth whitening. However, you’ll need to visit us for a consultation first, just to make sure. If your cosmetic dentist in Frisco discovers any untreated oral health conditions, such as cavities or gum disease, then they must be addressed before we can focus on the aesthetics of your teeth.

Does Teeth Whitening Work on Dental Crowns?

Dental crowns, and other restorations like veneers, bonding, and tooth-colored fillings, are not porous like tooth enamel is. While this makes them resistant to staining, it also means that whitening gel will not penetrate the surface. Therefore, teeth whitening does not work on dental crowns. In fact, the bleaching agent might even weaken the bond between your restoration and your natural tooth.

We typically don’t recommend that patients with dental crowns undergo teeth whitening, as their crowns will stand out. However, if you’re unhappy with the color of your crown, we can discuss replacing it after teeth whitening in order for it to match the rest of your smile.

Is Teeth Whitening Covered by Dental Insurance?

Teeth whitening isn’t normally considered “medically necessary,” so it’s very unlikely to qualify for dental insurance coverage. That said, there may be some exceptions. Our team is happy to double-check the details of your plan to help you save as much money as possible. We can also help you apply for a low- to no-interest payment plan through CareCredit.
